Travel Insurance for CARP Members

Our 2021 Pre-Season Savings Event ends October 30th

Travel Choice 2 rates increase on November 1, 2021. If you don’t yet know your departure date or you’re still not ready to travel, we’ve got you covered.

You can still buy a Travel Choice 2 Single or Multi-Trip Emergency Medical Plan at low 2019 rates, but only until October 30, 2021.

SAVE NOW: Whether you’re planning to drive south November 8th or you’re still not comfortable to travel just yet, we’ve got your back. Buy your insurance by October 30, 2021 while our low rates are still in effect. Then provided your policy conditions are met, you’ll have the option to change travel dates or receive a full refund*. Two examples:

  • If you’ve booked a vacation and plan to leave in a few weeks or months, but need to change plans because of COVID-19, etc., simply change travel dates without penalty. If you don’t plan to re-book, you can cancel and receive a refund.
  • If you haven’t booked a vacation just yet, set your departure or effective date a few months out – even September 2022! When you’re ready to travel, change your dates. If you don’t feel comfortable, cancel the policy and get your money back.

When it’s time to out-of-country, speak with our licensed specialists about our current coverage offerings for COVID-19 related expenses. Visit our COVID-19 Coverage page for more details.

As CARP’s trusted insurance provider, we urge you to follow the advice of medical professionals during these uncertain times… but when you choose to travel again, be assured that we’ll be here for your protection.

Planning to travel soon?

Yes the border is opening, but we’re still dealing with a global pandemic. We posted “COVID-19: Your safety and security outside Canada” to keep you informed about the risks of travelling outside Canada, and requirements when returning home.

  • IMPORTANT POLICY INFORMATION: Any policy changes, cancellations and refunds will only be permitted prior to your single-trip plan departure date or multi-trip plan policy effective date, even if that date falls within the 10-Day Free Look Period. Further, there can be no changes in your medical condition or stability from the date you purchased your policy. Otherwise your policy may be cancelled and re-issued at the current rate at that time. Please refer to your policy for complete details.

Planning To Travel Inside Canada?

YOU SHOULD HAVE TRAVEL INSURANCE

Government health insurance plans do NOT cover all of the medical expenses you may incur while travelling in Canada. The reciprocal agreement for services between the provinces and territories is only equal to the coverage provided in your home province or territory. And it differs across Canada.

Outside your home province, some plans will not cover prescription drugs, ambulances, specialists, emergency dental or x-rays. There are exclusions for all non-medical expenses, including travel expenses associated with trip interruption.

Travelling inside Canada without insurance is not as financially risky as venturing out-of-country without coverage, but your incurred costs could be substantial. Just an air ambulance back to your home province can cost you as much as $20,000.
